Description:
This course is designed to prepare 1st responders (LE, Fire, EMS, Emergency Managers) for managing mass casualty incidents. It is designed to help manage patient victims in major events but can be down sized to fit smaller incidents (Active shooter, traffic/rail accident, riot aftermath). Managing an incident starts with the first person to arrive on scene. Learn how to be an effective leader and take control of the scene. The START triage program is an easy way to manage victims and their transport. There is an in depth overview of the Incident Command System and the description of the positions involved in Module 2. There will be a practical role play and table top exercises and each student will be critiqued by the instructor as well as fellow students on ICS Commander role.
