Description:
This course will prepare the Instructor Candidate with the core knowledge base to go back to their agency and instruct the basic and advanced usage of the PR-24 side handle baton. It will prepare the IC by use of a court defensible lesson plan. It will teach the IC how to prepare documentation for courtroom prosecution of aggressive individuals. The course is Internationally recognized and carries a four (4) year certification.
The IC will be schooled in the many types of instructional methods thus creating greater ease in meeting the instructional goal of certification of the basic or advanced candidate.
We will be following the Monadnock Curriculum in its entirety.

Teaching Principles/Methods of Instruction
Patterns of Movement
Zone Defending
Escalation of trauma based upon vital strike points of the human body
All of the principles/techniques and concepts of the Monadnock PR-24 Basic and Advanced curriculum
Use of force reporting
Documentation/Record keeping of training
Pass a written exam with a minimum score
Pass a proficiency exam
Pass an instructional/presentation portion

Requirements:
Students need to bring a high energy approach towards instruction, dedication to seeing the course through, a pen, their department or agency ID, loose fitting work out clothes, work out shoes, no duty boots, a duty rig without firearm and a PR-24 side handle baton or expandable PR-24 side handle baton with belt holder.
Prerequisites:
The Instructor Candidate must have been through either the basic or advanced Monadnock course within the past two years. ASP program or other recognized baton program will also be accepted.
