Description:
The Multi Phase S.W.A.T. training has been designed for agencies that are not able to release officers for extended periods of time for training commitments. The course will be conducted in phases. This gives agencies more flexibility to ensure their officers are able to attend all phases. Upon completion of the 6th & final phase of the training, the officers will be issued a certificate of training for SWAT Level I. Each of the phases are stand alone classes, & will be approved as such. But only those officers completing all six phases of this course will receive the SWAT Level I certificate of training.
During Phase I, students will be instructed on various dynamic handgun techniques as they pertain the S.W.A.T. tactics; how to shoot with greater speed/accuracy from contact to approximately 15 feet while performing reloads, on the move (forward, rear & lateral) & how to effectively engage single & multiple targets as well as strong/reaction shooting & cover firing drills. All students will be able to effectively fire & clear malfunctions as well as perform reloads while under stress. The class will focus on room entry techniques including transition drills to/from handgun, shotgun, & sub-gun. Students will be introduced to the CAR shooting system & will understand why & how CAR works; 4 shooting positions, weapons retention, stance etc.
