Description:
The Multi Phase S.W.A.T. training has been designed for agencies that are not able to release officers for extended periods of time for training commitments. The course will be conducted in phases. This gives agencies more flexibility to ensure their officers are able to attend all phases. Upon completion of the 6th & final phase of the training, the officers will be issued a certificate of training for SWAT Level I. Each of the phases are stand alone classes, & will be approved as such. But only those officers completing all six phases of this course will receive the SWAT Level I certificate of training.
During Phase II, students will be instructed how to shoot with greater speed/accuracy from contact to about 21 feet while performing reloads, malfunction drills, on the move while shooting in dim light, with and without flashlights. All students will be able to effectively fire and clear malfunctions as well as perform reloads in dim to dark light, with weapon & reaction hand hand. Effective use of a flashlight in various shooting positions and learn when to use and not to use a flashlight with emphasis on target ID. Students will learn what a distraction device is, the laws governing the device, how and when to deploy. Understand the safety involved and what to do in a misfire situation. Students will each deploy a training device.
