Description:
This seminar will provide the participants with "clues" to assist them in recognizing all types of child abuse as well as neglect situations. Participants will learn to distinguish between "abuse" and an "accident", what to do when a Child makes an abuse or neglect disclosure, who to contact for assistance and information, and the Mandated Reporting Laws for their state. Children's threats, teen suicide, eating disorders, self-mutilation, and designer drugs will also be discussed in depth.
Objectives:
On completion the student will be better able to;
recognizing all types of child abuse vs neglect situations
distinguish between "abuse" and an "accident", what to do with an abuse or neglect disclosure
who to contact for assistance and information
Mandated Reporting Laws for their state
Children's threats, teen suicide, eating disorders, self-mutilation, and designer drugs will also be discussed
