This training was designed to effectively demonstrate how scent is affected by various environmental conditions often encountered but seldom considered by K-9 Handlers. This training session will also teach K-9 handlers how best to use available scent to their advantage to enhance tracking and trailing success. Course includes comprehensive text: "Scent & the Scenting Dog"

Objectives:

Teach the student to better understand scent movements

Fully understand the “Tracking/Trailing” K-9

Understand how environment affects scent

Effective measures to enhance success when tracking/training victims or escapees
