Description:

The purpose of this Inmate Escort Training package is to provide a specialized training course that includes practical exercises consisting of the proficient use of various types of restraints, search and planning procedures, as well as an introduction of the Center Axis Relock firearms system and its application in regards to weapon retention.

The course is designed for transport teams that escort inmates on local working parties, local appointments, legal proceedings and longer intercontinental escorts by vehicle or aircraft. In the context of this period of instruction, the term inmate includes all persons confined, regardless of legal status. Because escorts have specific responsibilities for the custody, control, supervision, and safe delivery of inmates, movement of inmates should be performed only by personnel who have had specialized training.

Requirements:

Note taking material

Duty weapon (handgun, shotgun as applicable) for retention training

200 rounds handgun/25 rounds shotgun for 16 hr class*

Students are requested to provide restraining devices if they are issued a type of restraint system that may be unique or newly fielded as well as note taking material.
